sAcH kA sAaMnA

The Desi-version of the reality show ‘Moment Of Truth’ is one of the most popular and talked about shows lately. Its popularity has taken it to the parliament… Yeah u see our ministers want to get themselves attached to anything and everything that is popular… even if it is just a TV show!!

Ok so what’s so extra-ordinary about such an ordinary show???

Let’s start from the start :-)

Sach ka saamna- as we all know- is a show where people come and win money for every truth they speak (in front for their family members and friends... which is indeed embarrassing most of the time). The participants have to undergo a polygraph test before the show during which they are asked around 50 questions out of which 21questions are asked again on the show!

That means the participants already know what questions are going to be asked… and yet they decide to participate out of their own free will, to hike their bank balance under the pretext of doing a bit of sach ka saamna!! …and since we Indians are always more interested in what is happening in other peoples lives rather than what is happening in our own lives, the show has managed to rise the TRP’s of the channel to seventh heaven!!! …but according to our ‘righteous’ ministers this show is raping Indian culture and they can’t allow this to happen!!

Hmmmm ofcourse strict action should be taken against such shows; … so what if shows like Splitsvilla and Roadies, are aired on a music channel? So what if big boss gets aired on a family entertainment channel? So what if all the K serials have been highlighting multiple marriages, extramarital affairs, rape, etc for ages, we should not allow Sach ka saamna to get away like the others!!

In our Indian culture where, we respect women so much, that they are beaten up for wearing western clothes, visiting pubs, smoking etc… and where just three days ago a girl was molested by several men including a traffic constable on a crowded street of Patna, we can’t allow a crazy host of some outrageous show, to ask a female if she would have had sex with another man if her husband didn’t know! What the fuck!! The questions are screwing our culture more than all the other acts!! Undignified questions asked to women contestants during the programme (and not the bikini showers of Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao) have a bad impact on Indian families!!!

Lol!

I think its high time our ministers let the people decide on what they want and what they don’t!… if people are enjoying the show and are willingly participating knowing the after effects … why make a noise?? If we can have a Rakhi Ka Swayamwar…why not sach ka saamna?? … and as far as Indian culture goes.. I don’t think banning this show will bring any improvements!! We still have a long way to go… and if telling the truth is not counted as culture ;) … then I guess it’s a little difficult task! ;)

I think ministers should stop targeting the show and making headlines, using Indian culture as an excuse!

  1. It does not make sense anymore! and neither is the public interested…
  2. Most of the protesting ministers don’t even know what they are talking about...[in a few interviews that I’ve watched …members of the same party have contradicting opinions]

guitar joys!!

After a loooooooooooooooooooooong and longer wait than that … I finally managed to strum my first song on the guitar!! And trust me; it feels like magic to actually witness myself do that... Especially when I and almost everyone around me from the past four months have believed that this day will never come!!

It was 5 months ago when the guitarist in me woke up [to fall asleep soon]…and I joined a guitar class … thinking that it would be a cakewalk … (and ill manage to impress a few chicks like the others :) two days later, I was totally convinced that this is not my cup of tea and I was a biggest fool to join a ‘GUITAR CLASS’ (yeah fixing comps is easier… atleast there I know which ‘wire’ (read as -string) is for what??]!! But since I've never been a quitter, I forced myself and carried on with the classes for four months (i.e.: twice a week) half-heartedly. I remember there were times when I used to literally drag myself to class.

But now when I look back I feel it wasn’t a bad idea at all, In those four months although I never practiced regularly and took things seriously… unknowingly I picked up many things! I learnt how to identify chords, how to read them out of music books, how to switch from one chord to another [that’s the most difficult part], and lots more … yeah and although it took me four entire months to just identify strings, my sir never gave up on me .. He was very kind. And then one day I finally felt sorry for him and gave up… yeah... I didn’t go for a month!

Yesterday I came across this site which had n number of songs that could be played with just 2 or 3 chords! So I thought ill give it a try … although I had not practiced for like a month... I was very eager to know if I could manage 2- 3 chords {more than that I wanted to find out, if actually all those songs could be played with just 2-3 chords} so I found where my guitar was... and begun to try! At first… it was hard because I had forgotten the chords… but as I looked into my books and referred to what I had been doing in these paste 4-5 months … I was overjoyed to learn that I could actually play tunes with only 2-3 chords!!

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!! … [Ok, Do I sound like a little kid who has managed to seize a lollipop after much struggle??? Hmmm… well who cares! ]

So I played

ajeeb dastan hai ye’ which is an old hindi melody [that was my 1st song],

my other achievements are:-

How Much Is That Doggie in the window…..

Mary Had a Little Lamb…

Happy Birthday..

Jingle Bells….

Silent Night…

….and hopefully this list will get bigger [no yaar this is not a song!!]

Two Letters

Subject: hi

Dear Nancy,
It seems odd to start a letter with Dear Nancy rather than My Love, Sweetheart or Princess. I guess my life has certainly taken quite a turn.
How are you ??
Well I know I had promised u, that ill never write to you after your marriage … but today I just can’t stop myself… I have been thinking about you all morning … Infact I have been thinking about us all morning, about those good old days when we were together-when your entry into my life breathed life into me, it was such a heavenly feeling. It gave me an excitement for each new day and I looked forward with anticipation to each time I could see you.
I was enthralled by the beauty of you smile, bewitched by the twinkle in you eyes and overcome by the passion of your kisses. You certainly had an affect on me. Life was so beautiful then; hand in hand we dreamt of togetherness!!!
In all of life, I had never really felt so at peace as when I was in your arms. ah! what lovely memories!! ... i just wished you would never go away!! hmmm but now perhaps, I am learning to live without you! learning to live alone.

When I met you on Friday, I wanted to tell u so many things … but u seemed in a hurry.

Anyways Nancy, I just wanna say I am missing u! It is just too hard to be away from you. I am usually okay, but at times like this it just becomes too much to bear. I know I have a tendency to be impetuous at times - thus the reason for this letter. I think I will mail it now, before I consider what you might think of it.
I love you and am waiting for the day when I can feel your arms around me again.

love always,
Harry

P.S: 1) I met Victor on Sunday at the café, he was looking so happy! and why not... I mean he’s so lucky to have a wife like you!
2)
king.harry007@ymail.com that’s my new id

You jerk!! Don’t you understand the meaning of DON’T MAIL ME ANYMORE!! Why the fuck do you still keep mailing! Have u lost it!!!!!!!!!! Didn’t I just tell you on Friday that I don’t wanna see your stupid shitty mails ever again?? And what’s with this new id thingy??? Do you realize it’s your 13th in 3 months?? Has yahoo-mail run out of members and appointed you to entertain them or have you decided to outdo all the freaking maniacs in this world who keep creating e-mail ids for fun sake! Moreover your id reads ‘king.harry007’??? My Holy God!!!! A kid in the 3rd grade will think of a better one than that!!!!!
Bloody Loser!!
Having ids as king and 007 does not make you better than what you actually are so stop acting crazy!! You were a failure then and will always remain one! By the way Drinking, creating mail ids and mailing me your sorrows is not the only thing left on planet earth so get real and find yourself a job!! … All this crap will not take you to heaven! Haven’t I told you this like a thousand times??? But you still make me sound like a silly bitch repeating her self!! And after doing all the nonsense in the world your asking me ‘HOW ARE YOU???’ … you idiot how can I be?? …I am sick of you!!
Anyways why on earth are you bumping into my husband every now and then??? Sometimes in the bars, sometimes in some malls, sometimes in the café, etc… Listen!!! I don’t want this to ever happen again! Try keeping your sorry ass five miles away from him!
Harry this is my last warning to you! My husband keeps checking my mails and I don’t want him to find any of your stupid letters!!! Victor has started to get curious now about where I go every Friday… if he finds out we are screwing around on his cost; he’ll screw us both!!

Better watch out!
Nancy

P.S:1) meet me in the café this Friday... I'll give you some more cash.
2) dont fucking mail me again.. .atleast not till our plan works out darling.

imagine

For those of u, who haven’t heard ‘john Lennon- imagine’ … boss!! ull r missing out on one of the best songs ever composed!!! .. Well I had heard it many times before... but yesterday as I just sat peacefully after lunch listening to a few oldies… I actually paid close attention to the lyrics of this one… and I was totally convinced, that: - its not only the music of the song that’s addictive … the lyrics are equally beautiful!!

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

inner voice

As days were passing by, I was getting more and more restless!! ….I was dying to tell her what I felt... But at the same time I was scared!! What would she think about me?? … Would she think I am some flirt? … Would she get angry?? … Would she stop talking to me if I told her??? I was confused! Hundreds of many thoughts were running through my mind!! I didn’t know what to do!! … My heart told me that I should go and talk to her at once!! .. But some how I could not!!! … I was feeling so bloody helpless!! I never felt so helpless before in my entire life. Every time I saw her sitting alone and completing her journal… I sooo wanted to go and tell her… but with every step I took ahead, the fright kept on increasing and finally I said nothing!!

Sometimes I thought I should go and talk to one of her friends about my problem… may be her friends could help me... may be they would tell her what I felt in a more appropriate way. May be making friends with her friends could make my task easier. But then again I used to kill those ideas thinking- that would make me look like a coward!! She would think I don’t have the guts to tell her myself…. And then? Would she ever agree?? Never!!

Sometimes I thought I should make good friends with her first, before telling her. May be ask her out also… umm! May be that would help. Then again I used to put away those ideas thinking that all this would take a lot of time... and then it would be too late!!

It was almost a week now! My helpless days changed into sleepless nights!! I just could not think of anything else… I could not concentrate on anything anymore! I started getting irritated on small-small things!! The happiness from my life had suddenly disappeared!

Then one day I made up my mind!! Enough is enough, I said to myself! I don’t deserve all this! It was not my fault! And what on earth could I do also?? .. I had to face this now! She had to know it some day, so what was the point in hiding? After class as always she was sitting alone on the last bench and completing her journal. I walked right up to her as decided… and with full confidence said, “Megan, I think that’s my parker pen!! U must have taken it by mistake during last Friday’s practicals!”

Railways get ‘the woman’s’ touch!

I waited eagerly the entire morning for the rail budget and then got glued to my TV [yeah literally] when the budget was being announced!!......

Huh?

Why?

…..well.. I had nothing better to do !! … So I made up my mind to show a little interest, in what interests me the least! – (i.e.: show a lil interest in the railway budget ofcourse!!, not in Mamata Banerjee …)

Well anyways, I must mention that I quite liked the budget thingy overall … it was nice to see Mamata Banerjee setting up a rosy picture –highlighting issues like safety, punctuality, cleanliness and quality housekeeping in her speach [yeah these points are often there in every budget … but somehow Banerjee was convincing ].. Cleverly reading out her speech the rail minister only emphasized on things she wanted to and said she was too tired to read the other “unimportant stuff”

Personally I liked a few things that are mentioned in this budget,

  1. Better canteen facilities and food stalls on platforms {yeah I was dying for this one, you see god listens to the hungry! Specially when your hungry on the station with very little edible stuff around u}
  2. Doctor in long distant trains... and ambulances at major stations {finally something new!}
  3. Farmer trains {yeah special trains to carry perishable stuff.. fruits and all .. }
  4. izzat{ scheme for giving privileges to people with income levels below Rs:1500}
  5. 'turant' {12 non stop trains }

Besides this a few other things were also mentioned like:-

  • No increase in fair charges
  • 57 new trains
  • ladies specials at metros during peak hours
  • medical facilities
  • computerized ticketing
  • 50% concession for media people
  • double Decker trains
  • optical railway network
  • usage of railway land for industry

so moral of the story:- yet another budget comes out !!!

and will this budget do wonders for us ??? ... Well atleast Mamata Banerjee thinks so... so lets hope and pray she turns out to be right (..do we have a choice??? )

hmmm….

will lady luck bring joy to the millions who travel by the railways??? -

Let’s wait and watch!!

P.S :- this was supposed to be posted yesterday, but unfortunately i could not!

beat it !

Not even a week has passed and the very websites and newspapers that had 'R.I.P. MJ', 'we will miss u' and all that attractive stuff as their headlines...have now switched on to a new topic (for publicity)… …. And the topic is MJ’s children(whose are they)!!!

First it was said that MJ is not the biological father of any of his three children… and then when enough suspense was created, it was said that Debbie Rowe, Jackson’s ex-wife was not the biological mother of the children as well… and just when people were wondering from which planet did all the children come down from; a US magazine, now it seems has clamed that MJ’s Australian dermatologist and Rowe’s boss Arnold Klein is the biological father of Jackson’s two eldest children- Prince Michael, 12 and Paris Katherine, 11….and the surrogate mother of Jackson’s third child, Prince Michael II, 7 was never revealed.

Wow! …some progress huh!

But who actually cares?

...don’t we have better things to discuss about??......and if we love MJ so much that we cant stop talking about him, why aren’t we talking about the millions of dollars he raised for various charities, that MJ was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his other achievements that included multiple Guinness World Records—including one for "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time"—13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles in his solo career, and the sale of 750 million records worldwide.

Yet defying all logic the media continues to show curiosity on the origin of the children that MJ fathered for so many years …

and will this help?!…

I personally don’t see how is this going to enrich our lives!!

google!

I’ve been studying for my CISE exams lately [CISE = certified information security expert... and this post is not to update you on that :-)]... actually while reading a little I came across the various methods that can be used in our Google search in order to categorize our search and reduce the number of search results that we get! I found them interesting and fruitful and so I thought I should share them! [Well you can thank me later]

Google’s Boolean default is AND; that means if you enter multiple words as your search… Google will search for all of them, together and individually as well. Which means the number of search results will increase big time…

E.g.: the search: narmada dam has 120,000 search results!!

To avoid the individual search of words we can use double quotes (“”), which treats the entire text as one query!

E.g.: “narmada dam” now has 24,200 search results.

Besides this I came across a few syntaxes as well:-

Useful syntaxes:

  • Intitle

It restricts your search to the titles of the web page.

E.g.: intitle:“narmada dam” will only display results with narmada dam in the title.[i.e.: 2,690 results]

  • Intext

It searches for the mentioned words in the body of the result text.

E.g: intext:“narmada dam” will only display results with narmada dam in the body of the result-[ie:103,000 results]

  • Filetype

It searches the suffixes of filename extentions.

E.g: narmada dam filetype:pdf will display results of .pdf files on narmada dam-[i.e.: 4,420 results]

So here you go! ... Using these syntaxes can really make Google searches quick … so go on and Google things out!!!!!

Oh yeah and for those of you who are wondering why I used narmada dam as an example everywhere … don’t get distracted! … We were talking about convenient goggling!!
