sAcH kA sAaMnA

The Desi-version of the reality show ‘Moment Of Truth’ is one of the most popular and talked about shows lately. Its popularity has taken it to the parliament… Yeah u see our ministers want to get themselves attached to anything and everything that is popular… even if it is just a TV show!!

Ok so what’s so extra-ordinary about such an ordinary show???

Let’s start from the start :-)

Sach ka saamna- as we all know- is a show where people come and win money for every truth they speak (in front for their family members and friends... which is indeed embarrassing most of the time). The participants have to undergo a polygraph test before the show during which they are asked around 50 questions out of which 21questions are asked again on the show!

That means the participants already know what questions are going to be asked… and yet they decide to participate out of their own free will, to hike their bank balance under the pretext of doing a bit of sach ka saamna!! …and since we Indians are always more interested in what is happening in other peoples lives rather than what is happening in our own lives, the show has managed to rise the TRP’s of the channel to seventh heaven!!! …but according to our ‘righteous’ ministers this show is raping Indian culture and they can’t allow this to happen!!

Hmmmm ofcourse strict action should be taken against such shows; … so what if shows like Splitsvilla and Roadies, are aired on a music channel? So what if big boss gets aired on a family entertainment channel? So what if all the K serials have been highlighting multiple marriages, extramarital affairs, rape, etc for ages, we should not allow Sach ka saamna to get away like the others!!

In our Indian culture where, we respect women so much, that they are beaten up for wearing western clothes, visiting pubs, smoking etc… and where just three days ago a girl was molested by several men including a traffic constable on a crowded street of Patna, we can’t allow a crazy host of some outrageous show, to ask a female if she would have had sex with another man if her husband didn’t know! What the fuck!! The questions are screwing our culture more than all the other acts!! Undignified questions asked to women contestants during the programme (and not the bikini showers of Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao) have a bad impact on Indian families!!!

Lol!

I think its high time our ministers let the people decide on what they want and what they don’t!… if people are enjoying the show and are willingly participating knowing the after effects … why make a noise?? If we can have a Rakhi Ka Swayamwar…why not sach ka saamna?? … and as far as Indian culture goes.. I don’t think banning this show will bring any improvements!! We still have a long way to go… and if telling the truth is not counted as culture ;) … then I guess it’s a little difficult task! ;)

I think ministers should stop targeting the show and making headlines, using Indian culture as an excuse!

  1. It does not make sense anymore! and neither is the public interested…
  2. Most of the protesting ministers don’t even know what they are talking about...[in a few interviews that I’ve watched …members of the same party have contradicting opinions]
